:: The History of Equivale ::
Long ago Equivale was a serene place. Filled with horses that coexisted. Sure, there were fights but that was normal. There had been no divisions back then. Everyone just was. That was before the portal had opened between the real world and the world of Equivale. Before Terror and Champion Chase had come to live there and call it their home. Before all the wars and anger and constant competition over whose views were right and whose views were wrong. To tell the history lets go back to the very beginning, back to before the portal had ever opened.
Centuries ago a mare had given birth to twin sons. The son with the pelt as golden as the sun was named Champion Chase. Terror was given to the name with the son who's pelt was as dark as the shadows. Despite the difference in coat colors they had gotten along rather well for brothers. They were always together as young colts. As they grew and started their training the brothers separated from each other a little bit. Their personalities had really begun to change. Chase had loved the training and later on competing in the western show ring. Terror had become more difficult and wasn't fond of being ridden. The brothers were still close, but there was always tension an the humans had stopped putting them in the same pasture. When they were 5 years old Terror had been fed up with stable life and broke open his stall door. He had plans to leave the stable for good. Terror had no intentions of leaving without his brother so he let Chase out of his stall. The golden stallion was reluctant to leave but saw Terror was unhappy here and didn't want Terror to be alone, so he followed. The twin brothers ran all night until an odd light stood in their path. They looked at each other and agreed to go towards it to see what it was. Before they knew it the world they knew was gone and so was the portal.
Before them lay a land so fertile and lush their mouths began to water. In the distance they saw horses running. This was freedom. Terror was excited but Chase was more reserved. Together they walked and met up with other horses. Both stallions joined the same herd and lived in harmony for three more years. As the fourth year rolled by Terror became unhappy with his life. He couldn't handle having a stallion rank above him so he had challenged the current lead stallion and won. Chase remained content where he was and another year passed and Chase saw more differences in his brother. Terror had stolen mares from other stallions and was planning on taking over another herd to make his even bigger. During this time the two brothers had found their mates. Females that completed them. Paradox stood beside Terror and together they ran fear straight into everyone's hearts. Those who opposed them were killed or went into hiding under Chase and XXX's protection. The lands began to turn red with all of the spilled blood. Chase and XXX had developed a resistance of able-bodied horses to stand against Terror and Paradox. For years this war continued and hundreds of horses were killed and families destroyed and divided.
Then, one day Chase and Terror met on the Westwind Plains. Their hatred for each other had grown tremendously. The twins eyed eachother and without warning attacked. All of the horses in Equivale caught wind of what was happening and came from all corners of the land to witness the legendary fight. Paradox and XXX stood just inside the circle of horses as they watched their mates fight. All knew that someone was going to die, they just didn't know who. Unable to just stand by, and wanting to make sure her mate won, Paradox suddenly ran towards Chase but XXX was just as fast as she and the two females began to fight just as angrily as the brothers were. The fight lasted for hours. None of them were willing to give up, but alas the fight did come to and end. Each horse had falat wounds inflicted upon them. All four were loosing blood they couldn't afford to lose. The fight with eachother had ended and now the fight to stay alive was in full gear.
Chase weakly habbled to where XXX had laid down unable to hold her head up anymore. Her left eye had been damaged beyond repair and a pool of blood was forming around her. Chase laid himself beside her and draped his head over her neck. They whispered their last goodbye's to eachother and expelled their last breath simultaneously. Terror was dragging his left hind leg as he slowly made his way to where Paradox stood her gaze looking into nothing. he weakly nipped at her shoulder then fell to the ground as he legs could no longer support his weight. Paradox momentarily remembered where she was and kneeled down to rest her neck over Terror's. To weak to even speak the two horses just watched eachother as they took their final breaths and left the world.
The gathered horses stood in shock as they watched all four of their leaders die that day. The sons from both pairs stepped forwards and faced the gathered horses. "No blood shall ever be spilled upon these lands. The Westwind Plains are sacred to us all." they announced together. All of the horses lowered their heads and gave their final respects to the leaders that they had followed. Over three days the horses slowly left a few at a time to go back to their homes. Their world had changed. There were still fights, but the war was over. So they thought.
Centuries later a few horses still held Terror's mindset and wanted their leaders back. They talked to a sub-deity who in turn gathered all the sub-deities and together they raised the dead overlords from the grave but under a fwe conditions. They were banished to their selected homes. Terror was banished to the darkness of the caverns. Paradox to her HHH. Chase was placed in his temple ruins. and XXX was gone to her HHH. None of them were to ever leave their homes by an unbreakable spell placed by the sub-deities and never allowed to see their mates ever again. Now they are all pissed and back to the beginning of their war. If the ending will be the same, no one knows for sure.
